Pam Grier Credits Chinese Medicine for Beating Cancer

Cult film star Pam Grier cites her use of Chinese medicine in helping her avoid death from her stage IV cancer in interviews and in her autobiography. You can read about it at this site:

Acupuncture Deemed Useful for Hot Flashes

ABC News aired a news feature which announced a hospital study using acupuncture to successfuly help menopausal women overcome hot flashes. The news piece also included quotes from practitioners at Beth Israel Hospital in New York and the Mayo Clinic who have been working with hot flashes for many years – to the great satisfaction of their patients.

Chronically Dry Eyes Respond to Acupuncture

In a recent study, patients with dry eye syndrome appeared to respond well to acupuncture intervention. According to the study, reported on here, "For four weeks, each participant received acupuncture three times weekly. At the end of the treatment period, patients showed a decrease in dry eye symptoms and an increase in their eyes' watery secretion."

 

Military Uses Acupuncturists to Treat Concussions

The Miami Herald reports that the American military in Afghanistan is using acupuncture to treat concussions suffered in by soldiers in battle with results that are, "off the charts", "helping heal soldiers with concussions so they can return more quickly to the front lines."

ABC News report: Acupuncture Useful for Cancer Pain, Symptoms

A recent ABC news report/video describes the multiple benefits experienced by patients undergoing cancer therapies who had been experiencing pain due to the cancer and side effects related to the treatments. The report combines descriptions of the firsthand experience from a variety of patients with acupuncture while citing several studies which, "... show [that] acupuncture alone cuts post-chemotherapy fatigue by 31 percent. It also cut hot flashes by 50 percent and slashed overall cancer pain by 36 percent."

Another source on this information, Oncology Nurse Advisor recommends acupuncture to manage symptoms of cancer, including fatigue. This is based on many sources, including a UCLA acupuncture study with cancer patients which found that, 

Fatigue was reduced by 66% among the study participants in the treatment group.
